Why pedal assist changes family rides

Family bike rides usually end the same way: one strong rider out front, one small rider in tears, and a parent pushing two bikes back to the hotel. Pedal assist fixes that. Everyone picks the assist level that suits their legs, so a twelve-year-old and a grandparent can ride side by side at the same comfortable speed, and the bridges stop being an argument.

It also means you cover real distance. Four hours on e-bikes is enough for the beach path, lunch on Las Olas, a loop of the Riverwalk and a stop for ice cream — a day that would be far too much on a beach cruiser in Florida heat.

Four premium Aventon e-bikes fitted to your riders, four SMITH MIPS helmets, heavy-duty locks so you can stop wherever you like, phone mounts for navigation, and a GPS tracker on each bike. We deliver to your hotel, condo or Airbnb inside our free delivery zone, set every bike up in front of you, and run the whole family through the controls and the safest route out of the street.

We also leave you with a suggested family loop marked up with the shaded stretches, the safest crossings and the best places to stop with kids. When your four hours are up we come back and collect the bikes — you do not have to ride anything back.

Riding with smaller children

Riders aged 16 and over can ride their own e-bike, with under-18s riding alongside a parent or guardian. For younger children we fit a child seat or set up a smaller frame so the family still rides as one group — tell us the ages and heights when you book and we will bring the right setup in the van.

If your group is bigger or smaller than four, call us on 954 698 4433 and we will price it properly rather than making you book something that does not fit.

Where families ride in Fort Lauderdale

The easiest family route is the beachfront path along A1A: flat, wide, and with the ocean beside you the whole way. From there the Riverwalk along the New River is shaded and calm, and the canal streets of Rio Vista are quiet enough for nervous riders. Ambitious families can cross the 17th Street Causeway bridge for the mega-yacht view, which is the photo everybody sends home.
